The Darkest Matter was filmed at the Future Film Initiative Studios over the course of five weeks during the summer of 2010. Twenty 6-12th grade students provided the acting talent as well as learned key crew positions under direct instruction from the Dawnrunner Productions' crew of experienced filmmakers. This "real world" production camp taught the students valuable filmmaking skills, while also gaining experience in a highly collaborative environment - built on creativity, reliability and trust. These critical experiences are essential to any career path, but especially so in respects to filmmaking. The resulting effects on their confidence, self-esteem and creativity will hopefully stay with them forever. Besides all that - it was a lot of fun! Take a moment to check out some of our favorite moments caught on camera during the course of production, below.
